Sylvain Mongrain

Sylvain J. Mongrain has been working for the Correctional Service of Canada for the past 18 years. He has a doctorate from the Faculty of Education Science, Laval University, Quebec, Canada. Mr. Mongrain has over 25 years of experience in the field of teaching and training. In 1998, he joined the Correctional Service of Canada as a Correctional Program Officer working with conditionally released offenders in the Montreal-Metropolitan District, Quebec. In January 2001, Mr. Mongrain assumed the responsibility of National Coordinator and Trainer at National Headquarters in Ottawa. Since January 2007, he is working as a Director in the Learning and Development Branch. Mr Mongrain is currently responsible for the design, development and national implementation of training in the organization. He oversees the Correctional Service of Canada Training Academy for all Correctional Officer recruits.
