Comité directeur en sécurité publique
Stephen Reid comes to the Canadian Association of Police Governance (CAPG) as Executive Director after several executive leadership policing and healthcare association roles, including as Executive Director at the Police Association of Ontario (PAO) and the Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland & Labrador (PANL). He was also in progressively senior management roles at the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) and MedicAlert Canada.
More recently as the Executive Director for the PAO, Stephen was responsible for overseeing the implementation of a seven-year strategic plan that focused on building the organization’s government relations, public advocacy, and membership engagement strategies. As the Executive Director of PANL, Stephen oversaw the negotiations with government related to expanding the scope of practice for pharmacists in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as building a public engagement strategy that promoted the profession as an integral part of healthcare delivery.
After obtaining an M.A. in Communication studying the U.K. experience of police austerity measures, Stephen is currently completing a PhD researching how Canadian police organizations need to adapt to a highly mediatized environment whereby crisis communication is the norm.
