Jason Godin worked as front line Correctional Officer in the province of Ontario and in federal Corrections, working at Kingston Penitentiary & Millhaven Institution, a maximum security prison, for 12 years from 1992 – 2004.
Jason was a Founding member of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers in 1999. Jason served as a Ontario regional president from 2001 until 2013. He then served as the National Vice President from 2013 to 2016 and was elected National president from 2013 to 2019.
Jason has worked on numerous return to work committees & has testified several times before parliament on mental health committees for First Responders, focusing primarily on correctional officers. Jason retired in 2020.
