New mental health resource in Saskatchewan now available for first responders
First responders now have better access to mental health support, thanks to a new website launched on July 24th, 2019 in Saskatchewan. This new resource is the culmination of nine months of work on behalf of WorkSafe Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board, and the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety.
The new website has online resources for first responders like paramedic, police, firefighters and communications officials to self-assess their mental health, anonymously, and 24/7. Resources include a self-assessment test that can then be taken to a health care professional, information to help complete their mental health insurance claim and self-care tips.
